Why We Started Brentwood Apex NC
More Than a Netball Club. A Vision for Every Player.
Brentwood Apex Netball Club wasn’t created simply to start another netball club.
It was created with a clear purpose: to provide an environment where every player is valued, every player can improve, and every player genuinely enjoys their netball journey.
We believe that success isn’t measured only by league tables or trophies. It’s measured by the confidence a player gains, the friendships they build, the skills they develop and the excitement they feel every time they step onto court.
Our vision is to become the leading community netball club in Brentwood and one of the most respected development clubs in Essex by putting players and families first in everything we do.
Why We Believe Netball Can Change Lives
Netball teaches far more than passing, shooting and defending.
- It teaches resilience.
- It teaches teamwork.
- It teaches commitment.
- It teaches leadership.
- It teaches respect.
These are qualities that stay with young people long after the final whistle.
That’s why Brentwood Apex Netball Club exists—to use netball as a way of helping players grow not only as athletes, but as confident young people who believe in themselves and support others.
We Wanted to Build Something Different
When we planned Brentwood Apex Netball Club, we asked ourselves one simple question:
“If we were building the perfect netball club from scratch, what would it look like?”
The answer shaped everything we do today.
We wanted a club where:
- Every player feels welcome.
- Coaching is organised, modern and player-focused.
- Development is more important than short-term results.
- Hard work is encouraged and celebrated.
- Players are challenged at the right level.
- Parents feel informed and involved.
- Teamwork and respect are expected from everyone.
- Success is shared across the whole club.
Those principles continue to guide every decision we make.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To inspire every player to become the best version of themselves.
That means creating an environment where players:
- Learn with confidence.
- Enjoy every training session.
- Build lasting friendships.
- Improve their technical skills.
- Develop tactical understanding.
- Grow in resilience and self-belief.
- Feel proud to wear the Apex badge.
Every session, every coach and every decision is built around this mission.
Our Core Values
Everything at Brentwood Apex Netball Club is built around a simple set of values.
We Train Hard
Progress comes through consistent effort.
Our sessions are energetic, engaging and designed to help every player improve week after week.
We encourage players to embrace challenges, work hard and enjoy the journey.
We Support Each Other
Great teams are built on trust.
We celebrate teamwork, encouragement and positivity.
Every player deserves teammates who lift them up and coaches who believe in them.
We Celebrate Every Achievement
Success looks different for every player.
For one player it may be making a school team.
For another it could be improving confidence, mastering a new skill or simply enjoying their first match.
Every achievement matters.
We Have Fun Doing It
We never lose sight of why we play.
Netball should be enjoyable.
Players learn best when they feel relaxed, supported and excited to come to training every week.
A positive environment creates confident players.
A Long-Term Player Pathway
We don’t just think about this season.
We think about where every player could be in five or even ten years.
That’s why we’ve created a pathway that supports players from Year 3 through to adulthood, giving them opportunities to continue developing within one club.
As players progress, they’ll experience increasingly advanced coaching, competitive opportunities and leadership experiences while remaining part of a familiar and supportive community.
Our aim is for players to stay involved in netball for life.
A Club That Supports Families
Joining a sports club is a decision for the whole family.
We understand that parents want more than just a training session each week.
They want:
- Safe and organised coaching.
- Clear communication.
- Positive role models.
- Opportunities for their children to develop.
- A welcoming club culture.
- Coaches who genuinely care.
At Brentwood Apex Netball Club, we work hard to build strong relationships with families because we know that player development is strongest when coaches and parents work together.
Ambitious, But Always Player First
- We’re proud to be ambitious.
- We want our teams to compete.
- We want our players to improve.
- We want to become one of the most respected netball clubs in Essex.
- But we will never lose sight of what matters most.
- Players come first.
- Development comes before results.
- Character matters as much as ability.
- Winning is important—but helping players become confident, resilient and respectful young people is even more important.
- That’s the standard we set ourselves every day.
More Than Weekly Training
Being part of Brentwood Apex Netball Club means belonging to a community.
Throughout the year we aim to create memorable experiences beyond the court, including:
- Holiday camps and development clinics.
- Team-building activities.
- Club celebrations and awards.
- Community events.
- Opportunities to watch elite netball.
- Leadership opportunities for older players.
These experiences help strengthen friendships and create a genuine sense of belonging.
